Having dominated their first inside competition, 32 brave novices came together on 23/11/2008 for their first regatta on the water. The first Novice Men went out in the blistering cold and made it easily through the heats to the quarter final. Then, it started to rain – heavily. Taking into account the sub zero temperatures, the organisers felt it necessary to call it off. Incidentally, this makes NM1 joint winners of the Men’s Cup! Well done!

Steph and Ollie, our Captains, decided to scratch the remaining three crews due to the serious risk of catching hypothermia.

Afterall, there is a reason for the regatta season taking place during the summer…
